The Vidal Sassoon Curl Magic Curling Iron has some great advantages but it also has some weaknesses.
The main advantage of this curling iron is that it has the clamp free feature. Not having a clamp means that you can more control over the formation of the curls and your hair won’t get caught in the clamp. Clamp free curling irons are the latest design curling irons and they give much more versatility than the old-fashioned clamp style.
The postives of the Vidal Sassoon Curl Magic include the heat protective glove which is important when handling your hair so close to the hot part of any curling iron. It also has a variable temperature setting to allow more options for different types of hair, but for some this may be pretty pointless any way because you really just need the highest heat setting to get a good curl formation.
The downside of the Curl Magic is that curls didn’t last for long after I curled my hair even though I used the highest heat setting. Some think that the conical shape barrel allows one to create different size curls but I found it frustrating because my hair would slip off as I wound it around the barrel and all the hair would gather at the tip and I couldn’t achieve nice large curls.
So, is the Curl magic worth buying? It isn’t the best clamp free curling iron I have tried but if you are unable to buy another brand I guess it will do the job.
